Asus Chromebit

  Today there were some new tech news regarding everyday gadgets. Microsoft announced their new Surface 3, a laptop and tablet 2-in-1 running Windows and ready to use Windows 10 in the future. Priced lower than a standard Surface Pro 3, yet still at $499 and not having the fancy extras like the keyboard which will cost a person extra. Add on top of that some sort of Antivirus the Salesperson will surely recommend and pay for Office 365 and you are looking at costs of over $600-$700 easily not counting that you will have to pay every year for the subscriptions on the Anti-virus and Office 365.

    Now Google also released a small 1 minute or so video regarding their Chromebooks. Their line of laptops and other computer-like devices that use the Chrome Operating System. One fancy little device poked their head out during that little video. This new device is called the Asus Chromebit.

     Now some of you might already be familiar with the Chromecast and the way you can mirror or use apps on your phone or computer and stream them onto your TV. They usually run $35 most places, but require you to connect a device to it that you need to stream from which most devices will be smartphones of $100 and going up. You can find cheaper smartphones, but they tend to get a little "Laggy" at that point.

    So what is this Chromebit you ask? Well there are devices out there like the Chromecast and Nexus Player, and then there is the line of Chrome OS devices. These being the many Chromebooks, Chromebox and Chromebases out there. Chromebooks, being your laptops, Chromebox being your desktop computer, and Chromebase being the All-in-one desktop computers. Now a Chromebit is something special. This little thing is priced below $100 and is going to pack a punch. All the computing power of Chromebooks in a size that is smaller than a candy bar!

 

   Nice thing about Chrome OS is that it doesn't take much to make it run fast. Think of a kid who has never had caffeine before. You give them just a little sip ad next thing you know they are zooming around the house. The Chromebit will be able to plug into any HDMI Monitor, TV, or what have you, and run like any other Chrome OS device. With being priced below $100 you can go buy one of these, set it up in your living room and your child, student, family, mom, dad, and everyone can go on it and start doing whatever they might like.

    All in all if you are in the market for a computer for home and already have an HDMI device that can support it, this might be for you. I always recommend people to try out Chrome OS and give it a shot. Times have changed and majority of what people do can be done on Chrome OS. Its just Chrome OS will save you money, time, and save a lot of hassle you might find with the competition.
